A 68 year old Bay Ridge resident was a victim of a home robbery last August. Kings County Police report the home, which is located on 93rd Street near Third Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, was broken into by a neighbor. They have not released the home owner’s name but state that 47 year old Thomas Piccirillo demanded money through the closed door. The man refused to given him money but Piccirillo then convinced him to open the door. Once the door was open, Piccirillo forced his way inside and assaulted the man. He stole more than $200 dollars from the man’s wallet. Police were not able to find Piccirillo until a neighbor recently spotted him in the area again. Kings County Police were notified and he was arrested. He now faces numerous felony and misdemeanor charges including Burglary, Criminal Trespass and Grand Larceny. He will be arraigned in Kings County Criminal Court, located at 120 Schermerhorn St. Brooklyn, NY 11201.

New York City Police Department recently arrested 38 year old Lance Stewartson for felony burglary charges. He followed a woman into her apartment building in the West Village area on Manhattan, NY. He then assaulted her and stole her purse. Stewartson put his victim in a chokehold until she lost consciousness. A witness called the police who apprehended Stewartson shortly after. New York Police Department has not released the victim’s name or the location of the burglary but has said the apartment building is near Christopher Street and Bleecker Street in New York City. Stewartson was arrested and charged with a class C Felony of burglary.

Roger Stephens; a 61 year old resident of Stone Mountain, GA; was in Wal-Mart when a simple shopping trip turned into an arrest. He was in the store at the same time as Sonya Matthews; of Grayson, GA. Matthews was in the Atlanta, GA Wal-Mart with her 2 year old daughter. Her daughter began to cry, which annoyed Stephens. Stephens yelled at Matthews to make her daughter be quiet and stop crying. After the young girl would not stop crying, Stephens repeatedly struck the child. A bystander in the store was able to detain Stephens until store security came. They then called the police. Stephens admitted to Gwinnet County Police that he hit the child. He was taken to Gwinnet County Detention Center, where he was held with out bond.

Chuck Knoblauch, a former MLB New York Yankees player, had gotten into a fight with his common law wife while trying to leave his home one evening. Darcheena Ray, a 34 year old South Ozone Park, Queens NY resident is facing a felony charge of Grand Larceny in the third degree after selling nearly $12,000.00 worth of stolen shoes on eBay. Ray was a customer service employee at Jimlar Corp., which sells high-end name brand shoes like Fryer Boots and Coach Shoes. Jimlar Corp.’s headquarters; which is the location Ray worked in; is located at 160 Great Neck Road, Great Neck NY 11021. They also have a showroom at 711 Fifth Street, New York NY 10019.

The thefts came to light after a customer tried to return the shoes purchased off the website. She did not have a receipt but had proof of the eBay transaction showing that the shoes were shipped to her from Jimlar. The company started an internal investigation since they do not sell shoes through eBay. Nassau County District Attorney’s Office took over the case and had Ray arrested. She will be sentenced in Nassau County First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead NY 11550. Ray faces seven years in prison if convicted.

Spiderman’s starlet Kirsten Dunst had been staying at Soho Grand in 2007 when the room she was staying was robbed. She had been staying at the upscale hotel, located at 310 West Broadway New York NY 10013, while filming “How to Lose friends and Alienate People”. While Dunst was out of her room, two men broke in and stole a Marc Jacobs handbag, her wallet, iPod, a Balenciaga purse, and numerous other personal items and accessories. Jimenez has chosen to go to trial and faces up to fifteen years in prison if he is found guilty of burglary. Beinerman has pled guilty to attempted burglary. He was sentenced to four years in prison. Police have not said whether Dunst was able to retrieve her belongings after the two men were caught.

Reality TV star Tila Tequila has alleged that her boyfriend Shawne Merriman; a linebacker for the San Diego Chargers; chocked her and stopped her from leaving his apartment. When the Sheriff arrived Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, signed a citizens arrest for Merriman allegedly falsely imprisoning her and battery. Both are felony charges if he is found guilty. Tequila was taken to the hospital for treatment, but was later released with no injuries. Merriman was taken into custody and was held on $58,000.00 bail. He was released after bail was posted. No charges have been filed to date.

Staff at Ritz Dinner watched as a father took his child out of the car and strapped her into the stroller. They then saw him climb back into his car and drive off, leaving the young child on the street. New York City Police were quickly called. The child was taken to New York Hospital, where she was found to be healthy. Later that evening, the child’s parents went to the 19th Precinct looking for their daughter. They claimed the mother, whose name has not been released to the public, had been arguing with the child’s father. She left the child in the car with her dad and walked away. The father, Brooklyn resident Edwin Rivera, left the girl on the street thinking her mother would see her and turn around to get her. He was arrested for child abandonment and endangering the welfare of a child. The young girl was released into her mother’s custody.

Clarence Mobley, a 60-year-old inmate, died on Saturday after fighting with correction officers at the Rikers Island Correctional Facility. The South Carolina native was found unresponsive in his cell on Saturday night at the Anna M. Kross Center at Rikers Island. Earlier that evening, Mobley had assaulted a corrections officer with a meal tray and had been subdued and moved to a separte holding pen. An officer was treated for minor injuries to his fact during the altercation.

A spokesman for the New York City Department of Correction, Stephen J. Morello, said that Mobley had been arrested April 30 in Jamaica, Queens, on attempted burgary charges and was waiting for a transfer to the Bellvue Hospital Prison Ward in Manhattan for a psychiatric evaluation.
